They say things get better with time.
One of my New Year resolution’s was to read more. I used to read all the time when I was younger, and that slowly dwindled down to maybe one book a year. Maybe.
I recently entered the yeah write super challenge. This is a non-fiction writing challenge that takes place in three rounds, with all writers competing for a cash prize. I just found out that I am through to the next round, alongside 17 other talented writers. I’m delighted to make it to round 2, and would like to share my first entry here! The prompt was “lessons learned”, and as I spend most of my time in a school nowadays, it didn’t take too long for me to find my inspiration for my essay.
Gosh, men. They seem to have it all, don’t they? The higher wages, the ability to objectify women with no repercussions and the general holding of power in the world. Just your basic male stuff. I don’t blame some of them for not being number one fans of the feminist movement. First thing’s first, if that title didn’t make you L-O-L then I’m not sure you’re the type of person I want reading this blog. But then again I am needy and in constant need of attention so who am I to turn away readers?
Let’s bypass the fact that this is my first blog post in months and get straight to it, shall we?
I’m sitting here on my bed in France with one window open on my laptop watching Crazy, Stupid, Love on Netflix, and the other one open writing this blog post. I, again, had not much to do tonight so I thought a movie might be a nice change from rewatching old Gilmore Girls episodes. I had previously added Crazy, Stupid, Love (which takes a lot longer to type than you would think, so I’m going to shorten it to CSL) to my list on Netflix, and remembered thinking it was good so I gave it another go.
Classic Clodagh. Make big changes to your blog, write a whole post about all these ideas and plans you have for it, and then disappear. Continue reading “Bear With”
