They say things get better with time.
One of my New Year resolution’s was to read more. I used to read all the time when I was younger, and that slowly dwindled down to maybe one book a year. Maybe.
Gosh, men. They seem to have it all, don’t they? The higher wages, the ability to objectify women with no repercussions and the general holding of power in the world. Just your basic male stuff. I don’t blame some of them for not being number one fans of the feminist movement. I too would be wary of something that could dismantle and take away all the precious things that only I can have, in a system that benefits me. Men have all the luck!
Well, would ya look at that. Check your calendar there, and notice something. Look at that date. Yep, right there. 31st December 2016. The last day of the year.
Last week TV3 Ireland announced that it would be rebranding its channels, and, drum roll please ladies, introducing a brand new, female focused channel. Thank God. Me and my vagina were struggling with what to watch!
First thing’s first, if that title didn’t make you L-O-L then I’m not sure you’re the type of person I want reading this blog. But then again I am needy and in constant need of attention so who am I to turn away readers?
2016. You’ve been a hell of a year. I don’t think I’m quite ready to look back on all that you’ve brought and simultaneously destroyed for us, but I think we can all say that this year is like no other. It brought out the worst in many, but, like every cloud, there is a silver lining (if you squint really carefully). While this year may have been the year America elected a man that requires too many adjectives for a solid English sentence, the reaction to this world-changing event has been both disheartening and encouraging.
